Success Story: Electro Standards Laboratories

The first Rhode Island company to participate was Electro Standards Laboratories. Ken Sepe, Vice President of Engineering, shared:

“The marketing analysis conducted by the students at Bar-Ilan University has provided Electro Standards with insight tailored to Israel’s demand for our product from a perspective that incorporates Israeli culture and business climate. This vantage point is truly appreciated, and we are confident it will assist greatly in developing our strategies to reach a qualified client base. At Electro Standards, we feel fortunate to be the recipient of this work effort. While helping us develop our international marketing, it has simultaneously provided students with meaningful, hands-on experience and a platform to apply academic knowledge to real-world business challenges.”

About the Program

The RIIC–Bar-Ilan University partnership was created to strengthen economic ties and promote innovation between Rhode Island and Israel. Bar-Ilan MBA students—mentored by faculty—work directly with Rhode Island companies to provide:

🔹 A comprehensive market-entry analysis

🔹 Introductions to key business contacts

🔹 Actionable steps for establishing a strong market presence

🔹 Strategic recommendations tailored to the Israeli market

This initiative not only supports Rhode Island businesses entering Israel but also provides Bar-Ilan students with valuable, real-world consulting experience. Importantly, participation in the program is free for Rhode Island companies.

“We are thrilled to offer Rhode Island companies a unique opportunity to explore and enter the Israeli market through this partnership with Bar-Ilan University’s MBA program. This initiative will help businesses assess the market and develop effective strategies, while also benefitting from the exceptional talent and expertise of the students.” Avi Nevel, CEO and Founder of RIIC

"We are excited to partner with the Rhode Island-Israel Collaborative (RIIC) to offer this unique opportunity for our students. By leveraging the expertise of our Graduate School of Business Administration, we aim to provide Rhode Island companies with invaluable insights into the Israeli market. This collaboration fosters economic growth and creates opportunities for further academic and cultural ties.” Prof. Eyal Yaniv, Bar-Ilan University

Building Bridges Between Rhode Island and Israel

The program was inspired by Bryant University’s International Business model, where students consult with companies abroad under faculty mentorship. Expanding that concept, Rhode Island companies now gain direct access to Israel’s market through the talent of Bar-Ilan University MBA students. This collaboration was made possible through the International Division of Relations of the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce.

Why This Program Matters

The RIIC and Bar-Ilan University partnership is more than just a program; it is a bridge connecting two vibrant economies. Rhode Island companies can leverage this opportunity to gain insights into the Israeli market. This not only enhances their business strategies but also fosters a deeper understanding of international markets.

The Benefits of International Collaboration

International collaboration can lead to numerous benefits. Companies can expand their reach and discover new markets. They can also learn about different business practices and cultural nuances. This knowledge is invaluable in today’s global economy. The RIIC–Bar-Ilan University initiative exemplifies how partnerships can drive growth and innovation.

How to Apply

To apply for this unique opportunity, interested companies should act quickly. The application process is straightforward. Companies need to prepare their materials and submit them before the deadline. Remember, only two companies will be selected for this cohort, so it’s essential to stand out.
