New Elected President of Ben Gurion University in Israel Professor Dan Chamovitz Visited Rhode Isl



As a continuation of the growing relationship between Ben Gurion University and Rhode Island last week, newly elected President Professor Dan Chamovitz was hosted in Rhode Island by the Secretary of Commerce, Stefan Pryor, and his team. During his visit, The President had multiple meetings with stakeholders in Rhode Island, including academic institution members at Brown University and the University of Rhode Island. The President was accompanied by members of his team, Doug Seserman and Kevin Leopold. During his visit, The President also visited the new CIC building, which is opening and will host many startup companies and organizations. This visit is part of the exploration in building the relationship with Ben Gurion University, Rhode Island and it’s academic institutions. As part of the effort, recently, Dana Gavish, VP, was in Rhode Island and spoke about Israeli women in innovation and on September 18 th , Professor Alon Friedman, Head of the Neuroscience Department of Ben Gurion University will speak at an event organized by the Rhode Island Israel Collaborative in collaboration with RI Bio, which will take place in the new conference room of Venture Café at the new CIC building.
