Larry Kaze
Lawrence Katz recently retired from being Director of Jewish Life and Learning for the Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island. He was responsible for the Jewish overlay of the programs of the Alliance, worked with the complementary and day schools, and supervised the Israel Desk.

Larry earned a BA at Columbia College and an MA in Jewish Education at the Jewish Theological Seminary. He studied educational administration at John Carrol University and at JTS. The latter awarded him the degree of Doctor of Pedagogy, honoris causa. He is a past president of the Jewish Educators Assembly.
Larry has explored Israel about twenty times (“from Metulla to the Negev” to Sharm elSheikh), including a year of study at Hebrew University. Among his duties at the Jewish Alliance, he has staffed the Israel Desk and supervised the shlichim/emissaries from Israel. Besides having been principal of some Jewish schools, his duties have included strategic planning, media resources, adult education, Israel teen trips, and professional development.
